Your appearance should be celebrate and promote your an inner sense of femininity. If natural-looking results are what you are looking for, you’re in the right place.
Patients share that clothes feel betterand wear whatever clothing they want. Feel great in any clothes (or no clothes).
Transaxillary breast augmentation allows us to enhance your breasts by inserting the implants through incisions made in the armpit region. Considered a technically advanced procedure, it’s one we love enough to teach others how to safely achieve beautiful results.
Going through the armpit leaves no scar on the breast itself. A small scar is hidden in the armpit, when it heals it will look like an armpit wrinkle – basically undetectable.
Transax is especially great for women who have small breasts naturally, and don’t have the predominant breast fold to hide the scar. The risk of the scar moving onto the side of the breast or down to the abdomen is eliminated.

We don’t tell you what you need. We listen to your vision for your body, and if it aligns with what we think is realistic, we deliver the most natural-looking results possible. Beauty is not one-size-fits-all and we don’t have a preconceived notion of what a perfect breast is.
Our team has authored books on the topic, has done procedures live at national meetings in front of other surgeons, and continues to teach other surgeons how to perform this procedure. We enjoy spreading the knowledge we’ve gained while being among the pioneers of transax as much as performing the surgery itself.
We include all after-care so you can come for your scheduled follow-ups and as many times as you need in between. We’re here for you.
Getting my breast implants restored more femininity in my life. Yes, it’s given me confidence, but I think it’s mainly more comfort, like the fact that I can fill out the clothes that I want to fill out and I don’t have to worry about wearing a bra.
Whether I’m going to the gym, going to work, or out to a music festival or something like that,
or having to try a million things on to hide this or that. And overall, I just feel like they fit my frame and give me better symmetry that I’ve lacked for many years.
It’s for sure exceeded my expectations. I honestly didn’t realize how much happier and confident I would be with them. I didn’t realize how much it would just complete me. My closet has completely diversified. There are just so many things that I can fit into that I would not have even thought of about beforehand.

I had gone to a previous surgeon wanting to lift my breast after having my daughter and breastfeeding. I didn’t feel like I had the shape and proportions that I once had.
I wanted a little bit of me back and feel like how I looked and felt prior to having a baby.
So that surgeon performed a breast augmentation and lift. I experienced some healing issues where I had an incision on my breast that wouldn’t close for several months. And then my surgical outcome was just not what I had hoped for in terms of size. The surgeon picked my implants and there was very little discussion about what my goals were. So the implants that he placed were very, very large. It was just not the aesthetic that I was hoping for. It was kind of a traumatic experience, to say the least.
Dr. Schierle took the time to really listen to my concerns and then come up with a plan where I felt confident that my sizing was appropriate for my body and for what I was looking for.
And he really took his time to kind of navigate what the procedure would look like for me from start to finish through recovery. I felt confident in his surgical approach that we would always have a solution to what they found, and he made me feel comfortable knowing that he was going to be part of my journey throughout the entire process with my healing. He stayed in contact with me throughout my healing and was very in tune with my emotions and how sensitive I was about going through breast surgery again. He did a good job making sure that he was holding my hand essentially throughout the entire process, which I really appreciate.
Now I’m more confident. My clothes fit better. I’m able to wear different tops and I feel a little more free with my clothing choices while still looking appropriate. My breasts were kind of standing in the way of people really getting to know me for who I was. So having that component removed has been a huge game changer for me.
Breastfeeding is safe and is not harmful to your child once you receive implants.
Having implants doesn’t cause any repercussions in terms of breastfeeding difficulty or breastfeeding safety.
We encourage you to get more than one consult. There are several talented surgeons available to you – a great surgical result comes from a great doctor-patient connection. Allowing your surgeon to fully understand your motivations, idea of beauty, and surgical goals ultimately provides the best results.
Your post-op recovery period and how long it takes you to do certain things is based on your body, your circumstances, and exactly what was done in your surgery.

I’m a visual artist, so I notice everything to an almost annoying degree. After looking at literally every plastic surgeon’s site in Chicagoland (and some options on either coast),
I found myself always coming back to Dr. Schierle because of how natural his results were.
The breast shape of the before and after photos all remained the same, just enhanced, instead of looking like a couple of grapefruits were stuffed in, as I horrifyingly saw on a few other websites. I’m only 6 weeks out from my transax breast aug and tummy tuck (and upper bleph but who’s counting) and I’m beyond thrilled with my results. Even before having 2 children, my athletic body and small B-cup breasts didn’t allow me to look as feminine as I felt. I now have my pre-baby abs back along with the confidence to wear clothes I wouldn’t have been able to fill out or feel confident in prior to this procedure. I’m so grateful to Dr. Schierle and the rest of the team at Northwestern.
